The 10 Best Scenic Views at Walt Disney World

10 Best Views at Walt Disney World

The 10 Best Views at Walt Disney World

How many of these classic Walt Disney World views have you seen?

With 43 square miles of space (much of it still untouched and undeveloped), Walt Disney World has a lot of area. So it should come as no surprise that there are some pretty amazing views all around Walt Disney World. When you visit, be sure to see as many of these 10 great views as you can. Keep your camera or phone handy — you’re going to need it.

1. Top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney's Contemporary Resort, Roof View

The view of Seven Seas Lagoon from atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

At the top of Disney’s Contemporary Resort is a restaurant named California Grill and from here (and the outdoor viewing areas on either side) you will have fantastic views of Walt Disney World. One side looks out over Seven Seas Lagoon, while the other side looks out over Bay Lake. Both views are pretty spectacular. The Bay Lake View offers great views of other Disney landmarks in the distance.

2. Aerophile Hot Air Balloon

Aerophile hot air balloon view, Disney Springs.

Exceptional views are all around you when you are high in the sky aboard Disney’s Aerophile hot air balloon.

Disney’s Aerophile is a hot air balloon ride in Disney Springs. Once aloft, you get very impressive views from a full 360-degree perspective. Take flight on a clear day and you can see for miles and miles. I highly recommend taking flight on Disney’s Aerophile if you crave a bird’s eye view from 400 feet in the air.

3. Top of Expedition Everest

View from atop Expedition Everest.

The view from the top of the first hill on Expedition Everest is very impressive.

As you climb the first high hill on Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, there are impressive views on both sides of the car. You won’t have long to appreciate it though, so you’d better be fast if you’re holding a phone or camera.

4. Kilimanjaro Safari

Disney's Animal Kingdom, Kilimanjaro Safari

Some photos consistently get the reaction: “That is from Walt Disney World?!” This photo that I took on Disney’s Kilimanjaro Safari is one example of that.

Kilimanjaro Safari in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is a gold mine for amazing views. If you love animals and photography, this is a must-do. Travel in the morning or afternoon for the best light on the safari. If you’re like me, you’ll consistently come away with some excellent images from your journey.

5. Seven Seas Lagoon

The Seven Seas Lagoon area of Walt Disney World is so scenic in so many ways, In fact, there are great photo angles available from three Disney Deluxe Resort hotels: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Sunrise or early morning photos are some of my personal favorites because the water is so still. I am partial to scenic views that include water, so this is among my favorites.

6. Bay Lake

Heading off to work in the morning. A loan boat makes its way across Bay Lake at dawn.

Not to be outdone by Seven Seas Lagoon, Bay Lake also presents its own set of amazing views. The views on Bay Lake tend to be more nature oriented as there are far fewer developed shorelines on this body of water.

7. Top of Summit Plummet

Summit Plummet, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park.

Summit Plummet at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park.

I hate to admit that I don’t actually have a photo from the top of Summit Plummet because I don’t carry any sort of camera/phone before plunging to the earth at 60 miles an hour on a water slide. However, the views from up there are pretty awesome (take my word for it). They help to take your mind off of what’s about to happen and they’re well worth the many stairs and the speedy ride back to the ground.

8. Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle Vista, Disney's Magic Kingdom Park

Of course Cinderella Castle is one of the most photographed subjects in all of Walt Disney World. The trick to a good vista is trying to find an angle without guests, for optimal tranquility and focus.

Cinderella Castle is probably the most photographed icon at Walt Disney World. It looks great from every angle and there are so many ways to take advantage of its allure. Day or night, the castle looks awesome in photos. I like to try to find the more unusual angles when shooting Cinderella Castle, such as in the photo above.

9. Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is almost as popular as Cinderella Castle. The views of this attractive globe-like structure are amazing from a number of angles, both day and night. It’s another classic view at Walt Disney World.

10. Disney’s Boardwalk

Disney's Boardwalk and Yacht Club

Water always helps to make any view great and as you walk around the Disney Boardwalk area, you’ll find many welcoming views. This view is from the Disney Boardwalk looking back towards Disney’s Yacht Club Resort.
