Best Hotels at Walt Disney World in 2019

10 Walt Disney World Resort Hotels Have Received a 2019 AAA Four Diamond Rating

The Copper Creek Villas and Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge are the newest addition to this prestigious list

For 2019, 10 Deluxe Disney Resort hotels have made an appearance on the AAA Four Diamond Award list. This is an improvement over the nine Disney resort hotels that graced the list in 2018.

The AAA Diamond Rating is one of the most respected third-party hotel rating systems in the travel industry. Each year, AAA assesses nearly 28,000 hotels and resorts to develop its annual list of the Diamond Award recipients.

For 2018, all nine of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels that appeared on the 2018 list have made it once again to the AAA list of Four Diamond Rated properties for 2019, with the addition of the Copper Creek Villas and Cabins to round out the list.

The 10 Walt Disney World Resort hotels receiving the AAA Four Diamond Award Rating for 2019 are:

  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (4 Diamond Rated since 1989)
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (4 Diamond Rated since 1991)
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort (4 Diamond Rated since 2003)
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort (4 Diamond Rated since 2007)
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort (4 Diamond Rated since 2007)
  • Disney’s Boardwalk Inn (4 Diamond Rated since 2009)
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Jambo House (4 Diamond Rated since 2011)
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village (4 Diamond Rated since 2011)
  • Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (4 Diamond Rated since 2013)
  • Copper Creek Villas and Cabins (4 Diamond Rated since 2018)

The brackets indicate the year that each hotel received its first AAA Four Diamond Rating and has consecutively appeared on the list since that time. With a streak of 19 consecutive years as a AAA Four Diamond Rated property, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the longest-running luxury resort at Walt Disney World to appear on this list. It should also come as no surprise that all hotels on the list fall into Disney’s Deluxe category of hotels and villas.

Only 6.3% of the 27,000 hotels and resorts inspected for AAA Diamond Award consideration actually receive a Four Diamond Award Rating, so this is quite an achievement for each of these luxury Disney resort hotels.

AAA Five Diamond Rated Resort

In addition, a AAA Five Diamond Award — the highest honor bestowed by AAA — was given once again to The Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World. Even though this is not a Disney owned and operated resort, it is located on Disney property near Disney’s Magic Kingdom resort area and you do get certain privileges associated with Disney-owned hotels.

How the AAA Diamond Ratings are Awarded

AAA 4 Diamond AwardAccording to AAA, the “AAA Diamond ratings for hotels represent a combination of the overall quality, range of facilities, and level of services offered by the property. The descriptive ratings are assigned exclusively to properties that meet and uphold AAA’s rigorous Approval standards.”

In the case of the Four Diamond Award, AAA describes the hotel recipients in this category as having the following qualities:

“Refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.”
