Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Hotel Profile
Hotel Profile: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
When it comes to the Deluxe Category of Resort hotels at Walt Disney World in Florida, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the undisputed leader in luxury Disney accommodations.
Located on shores of Seven Seas Lagoon just a stone’s thrown from Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will appeal to guests who are looking for the highest level of accommodation within the top category of Walt Disney World onsite resort hotels. This is about as good as it gets in terms of Deluxe Disney Resorts and many travel critics consider this to be the only true luxury Disney hotel property.
Travel Luxury in The Crown Jewel of Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has a Victorian theme, with the design and ambiance highly reflective of this. It is about as opulent as it gets in the world of Disney resort hotels. Guests who typically lean towards other premium resort hotels on non-Disney vacations will be quite at home at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Not only are the surroundings rather luxurious, but the Cast Members who serve guests here are also very much aware of providing a level of service that matches the overall appeal of this property.
While Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is generally the highest priced property onsite at Walt Disney World, pricing is not outrageous (in relative terms) compared to its peer group of nearby Deluxe properties, such as Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort next door. The Grand Floridian will cost you a bit more, but you also get significantly more in return.
Well Manicured and Highly Refined
The property at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is well manicured and highly refined. It manages to be both upscale and luxurious, while still being very kid friendly and relaxing. There isn’t much that you can’t do here. There is a full-service spa, fitness centre with basketball courts, two pools, a splash pad area, enough onsite dining to fill an entire vacation and more onsite shops than you will find at any other Disney resort (by a significant margin). Right across the street there are two championship golf courses and there is a stunning Wedding Chapel next to the hotel grounds (themed as part of the Resort hotel).
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort also plays host to several upscale dining and other experiences, including Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner, Disney’s Perfectly Princess Tea, a Pirate Adventure and much more.
As Luxurious as You Want it To Be
For guests who really want to take their experience to the pinnacle of Disney luxury, you can do that here as well. A dinner at Victoria & Albert’s — one of the few AAA Five Diamond rated restaurants in all of Florida — will provide you with a sumptuous dining experience in palatial surroundings. It will also set you back a pretty penny. If taking a cruise on a private luxury yacht is more your style, you can hire the Grand 1 — a yacht docked onsite at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort — to cruise the waters of Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake in any way you see fit. The Grand 1 can book up far in advance, so bear that in mind if this is something that interests you.
Regardless of whether you are a traveler who simply wants to experience a little extra luxury on your next Disney vacation, or you are a regular luxury traveler who wants to experience the best that Disney Resorts have to offer, you will find yourself at home at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. This is my personal favorite Resort at Walt Disney World.
