Five Steps to a Luxury Walt Disney World Vacation

Five Steps to a Luxury Walt Disney World Vacation

For those of us who typically enjoy upscale or luxury resorts when we travel, a luxury stay at Walt Disney World is definitely something to consider when planning your Walt Disney World vacation.

There are five key points to keep in mind when planning and booking your luxury Walt Disney World vacation.

Five Ways To Enjoy A Luxury Vacation at Walt Disney World

1. Stay in a Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort

Walt Disney World has three levels of resort categories: Value, Moderate and Deluxe. You’ll want to book a Disney Deluxe Resort for your Walt Disney World luxury vacation. While Disney Deluxe Resorts are not quite on the same level as a Ritz, they are the highest level of Disney accommodations and they are the place to stay for the optimal Walt Disney World deluxe experience.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is the Crown Jewel among Walt Disney World Resort hotels, however, each of the Deluxe Resorts offers an upscale experience that far exceeds those of the Moderate and Value Disney properties. Another standout accommodation to consider is a Bora Bora Bungalow at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. While not inexpensive, these accommodations are (in my opinion) the ultimate choice for a luxurious stay at Walt Disney World Resort. There’s no question that you will feel very special when you stay in a Polynesian Bungalow.

It is also worth noting that a Four Seasons Resort recently opened on Walt Disney World property. While you will not have access to all of the Disney guest perks if you stay here, it is an option for the luxury Disney traveler looking for a more familiar brand.

2. Book Club Level Accommodations at a Disney Deluxe Resort

For the pinnacle of luxury — Disney style — consider a Club Level Concierge room at any of the Walt Disney World Deluxe Resort properties. Club Level accommodations come with their own set of unique VIP treatments, including a separate check-in area, private access to the Club Level wing, private concierge planning services, and a Club Level Lounge featuring a variety of complimentary snacks and beverages throughout the day. Club Level Concierge accommodations will make an extra special stay at a Disney Deluxe Resort even that much more special for you and your family.

3. Dine at Walt Disney World Signature Restaurants

Similar to the various categories of hotel accommodations, Walt Disney World also has several categories of dining. The top tier here are Disney’s Signature Dining establishments. First-time visitors to Walt Disney World are often surprised to learn that there are several fine dining restaurants here, including one of the most highly regarded establishments in all of Florida: Victoria and Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa — a AAA Five Diamond rated establishment. No luxury vacation to Walt Disney World would be complete without dining reservations at one or two of Disney’s Signature Dining restaurants.

4. Book a VIP Tour or Guided Experience

To help extend your VIP experience beyond your resort accommodations and dining, Disney also offers many luxury VIP experiences that you can reserve to enhance your stay. These include everything from VIP Guided Tours of the Parks (giving you behind-the-scenes and unlimited VIP access to many of the shows and attractions), to private chartered yacht excursions on Disney waterways. Luxury experiences like these will take your Disney Magic to the next level and can really enhance your Deluxe Disney vacation experience. There are also luxury experiences for younger travelers (ages 3 to 9), such as the Perfectly Princess Tea at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, which I highly recommend.

5. Spend an Afternoon at the Spa or on the Golf Course

Relaxation comes in different forms for different guests. For those who enjoy a little relaxation time at the spa, Walt Disney World has two premium spa locations from which to choose: the Senses Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and the Senses Spa at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort. Both are full-service spas located at Disney Deluxe Resorts.

If your relaxation comes in the form of fairways and greens, Walt Disney World has several outstanding golf courses from which to choose. These are anchored by the spectacular Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course (a championship level course) and Disney’s Palm Course. In addition, Disney also offers the Lake Beuna Vista course and the Oak Trail course, ensuring something that will cater to the needs of every level of golfer.
