How to Bring a Cinderella Theme to Your Next Walt Disney World Vacation

“A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” ~ Cinderella

A Walt Disney World vacation is magical at any time, but if you have a favourite Disney Princess or Disney Character, why not add a little extra magic to your stay by taking a themed approach to your vacation planning?

In this post I’ll share a few ways that you can take a Cinderella Disney Princess approach to your Walt Disney World vacation.

With Cinderella Castle as the most iconic symbol of Walt Disney World, a Cinderella theme is ideal for an upscale Disney vacation.

Where to Stay for the Cinderella Experience

We’ll start with where to stay. For the optimal accommodations on your Cinderella Walt Disney World vacation, you must stay at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, Cinderella Castle View

Magical. Kids of all ages will love the unbeatable view of Cinderella Castle from a Club Level Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort.

This stunning upscale luxury Disney resort hotel is Cinderella’s home away from home (and her home in the castle really isn’t that far away). In fact, if you choose to stay in a Club Level Theme Park View Room here, you can have an excellent view of Cinderella Castle right from your room. That’s about as magical as it gets for any family with a young (or not so young) fan of Disney Princesses — Cinderella in particular. Not only will Cinderella Castle be perfectly framed from your balcony, but you’ll have an excellent view of the nightly fireworks display as well. Pretty hard to beat that.

By the way, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is among my top picks (and my personal choice) for Walt Disney World accommodations, even if you’re not planning a Cinderella-themed vacation.

Within Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort itself, you’ll find Cinderella’s influence all across the property. From Cinderella’s story featured in the custom marble floor of the lobby, to an appearance by Cinderella herself at Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner (in 1900 Park Fare, just off of the main lobby), Cinderella’s presence is well represented here.

If you’re really lucky, you may even get to see Cinderella’s Pumpkin Coach making its way across the grounds of the resort hotel. Cinderella’s Coach is housed at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and on occasion a lucky bride and groom can be seen making their way across the well-manicured Victorian grounds in celebration of their nuptials. This make sense, of course, since the Grand Floridian Wedding Pavilion is located directly next to the hotel.

Where to Dine with Cinderella

While you can dine with Cinderella and Prince Charming right in your hotel at Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner, there are other excellent options for how to extend your Cinderella-themed Walt Disney World Vacation. The ultimate Cinderella dining experience is to book a meal inside Cinderella Castle at Cinderella’s Royal Table.

Dining inside Cinderella Castle at Cinderella’s Royal Table is an experience not to be missed.

If you ask me, there’s nothing more magical than dining inside Cinderella’s home, with Cinderella herself greeting you when you enter. Lucky for you, you’ll also get to meet and greet four more of Cinderella’s Princess friends over the course of your meal in the Royal Dining Chamber inside Cinderella Castle. Ascending the steps inside Cinderella Castle for the first time on your way upstairs to the Royal Dining Hall is one of the most awe-inspiring Disney experiences for guests of all ages.

Where to Meet Cinderella

If you want to meet Cinderella (which, of course you will), you don’t have to book a meal with her (although that is a very magical way to meet her).

Conveniently located next to Cinderella Castle, you can meet Cinderella herself (and three other Disney Princesses) in Princess Fairytale Hall inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park. My advice here would be to secure a FastPass+ for meeting Cinderella. While the lines are not always long, they can be upwards of an hour at some points. So save yourself any anxiety and use a FastPass+ for this royal encounter.

Inside Princess Fairytale Hall you’ll get a bonus of being able to see Cinderella’s famous glass slipper, which is housed inside of a protective glass display case. Cinderella’s  glass slipper is pictured in the headline image for this post and it’s pure magic for any fan of this Classic Disney fairytale.

Get a Cinderella Makeover

If you’re planning to meet Cinderella, you may want to do so in true Disney Princess Style. Plan ahead and book an appointment for a Princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique inside Cinderella Castle. Here you will have a wide variety of options for makeovers from something light and minimal to a full scale affair, including an exclusive Princess gown. Young Princesses in particular will find this to be a very memorable experience! While there is a second boutique in Disney Springs, nothing matches the majesty and allure of the Castle location. So make your reservations far in advance of your stay, because the boutique is quite popular and time slots go quickly.

Cinderella’s Secrets and Hidden Gems

While you’re in the Magic Kingdom, no Cinderella-themed Disney adventure would be complete without seeking out the five hidden gems of Cinderella.

Take a ride on Cinderella’s favorite horse on the carrousel, make a wish at Cinderella’s wishing fountain, take a seat in Cinderella’s special chair and more. In total, there are five Cinderella hidden gems located in close proximity to one another in and around Cinderella Castle and this makes a great and fun scavenger hunt for anyone looking to explore a few of the secrets hidden away in this magical kingdom.

I’ve written an entire blog post dedicated just to the Cinderella hidden gems, so be sure to read that post to learn more about all five Cinderella hidden gems just waiting to be discovered.
