Explore Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration; party with Pixar pals; discover Broadway-style musical performances than ever before; and – Hakuna Matata – it’s a dance party!

As of January 18, 2019, Walt Disney World has several new live entertainment activities to further enhance the magic for your upcoming visit.

There are four new spectaculars for you to enjoy right now and several more coming later in the year. Let’s start with what launched in January.

Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration at Magic Kingdom Park

Mickey & Minnie’s Surprise Celebration is a special event that honours Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. So if you have a special place in your heart for this happy Disney couple, then this one is not to be missed.

This soiree at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park is multi-faceted and features new entertainment, merchandise and specialty food and beverages. Not only can you greet Mickey and Minnie at Town Square Theater, but now you can dance with your favourite Disney friends during the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party, which takes place in front of Cinderella Castle.

The Incredibles at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Party with Pixar Pals and Join the Celebration as Disney’s Hollywood Studios Celebrates 30 Years

Favourite Pixar characters will be front and centre at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as the park celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2019.

The fun includes An Incredible Celebration, featuring Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone in The Super Shindig dance party. Plus, you’ll have a chance to meet super-suit designer Edna Mode. Plus, if you venture on over to Walt Disney Presents, you can visit with Mike and Sulley from Disney•Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.

The Epcot International Festival of the Arts is Bigger and Better Than Ever Before

The 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Arts comes alive from January 18 to February 25, 2019.  This relatively new festival has been an instant hit with guests, allowing you to indulge in world-class culinary, visual and performing arts. This includes the Disney on Broadway Concert Series that expands this year to every day of the festival.

Hakuna Matata Dance Party

It’s Party Time with The Lion King family at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park

It’s a big year for the Lion King family and now you ca take a walk on the wild side at Disney’s Animal Kingdom during the Hakuna Matata Time Dance Party. This fun new event features Timon and Rafiki from Disney’s The Lion King leading the way. There’s no better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lion King during your Walt Disney World vacation than by taking photos with special, dimensional backgrounds on Discovery Island and at the park’s entrance.

There’s more entertainment coming your way later in 2019

  • Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will keep the Pixar party going when it debuts March 31, 2019, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This new show will bring you face to face with racing legend Lightning McQueen from Pixar Animation Studios’ Cars.
  • The Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will awaken in a whole new way to honour The Lion King. Starting on Memorial Day weekend at the end of May and appearing nightly through September 30, this show will feature projections on the iconic Tree of Life. It will feature music and animation paying tribute to the classic animation of The Lion King.
  • Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! is coming back to Epcot this summer. Star-Lord and Gamora from the Guardians of the Galaxy films will take you on a musical journey through the cosmos, showcasing hits from Star-Lord’s Awesome Mix tapes. Live shows will take place daily from June 14 through August 18, 2019.
