Jingle Cruise: A Delicious Disney Christmas Cocktail
A Creamy Rum-based Original Disney Cocktail Inspired by the Holiday Version of Disney’s Jungle Cruise Ride
Christmas cocktails are a fun part of entertaining at home during the holiday season. For this Christmas holiday drink I drew inspiration from Disney’s Jingle Cruise — the holiday overlay for Jungle Cruise. As always, when creating my Disney Signature Cocktails I choose ingredients that anyone can make at home without a lot of fuss or special steps.
Jingle Cruise is a creamy, delicious and very easy drinking cocktail with a little bit of sass as a nod to the Jingle Cruise boat captains. It’s also not overly spirit forward, so you can have a second (or third) without filling up.
I had a lot of fun developing the Jingle Cruise and tried several different concoctions before coming up with the winning formula (yes, I did the hard work for you by trying many different drink combinations).
The Jingle Cruise features four types of alcohol, but it’s not overpowering as three are relatively low alcohol concentrations. The drink is light tasting with a cream base and definitely brings the Christmas cheer with a peppermint bark flavor profile (Rumchata Peppermint Bark and Peppermint Schnapps), backed by hints of coffee liqueur (Kahlua) and a little bit of cinnamon (Fireball Whiskey).
To finish off the Jingle Cruise cocktail, I added a dash of chocolate bitters and a light dusting of cinnamon on top. The drink is garnished with an After Eight mint chocolate straw and a yogurt covered Christmas tree pretzel.
Ingredients
1 oz Rumchata Peppermint Bark Rum
1/2 oz Kahlua
1/2 oz Peppermint Schnapps
1/2 oz Fireball Whiskey
1 oz 10% table cream
Dash of chocolate bitters
Sprinkle of cinnamon spice
To make a Jingle Cruise, combine the first five items and shake over ice in a cocktail shaker (or chill in the refrigerator if you don’t have a shaker). You want the drink to be nice and cold, but not watered down by ice in the glass. Pour into your cocktail glass of choice and finish off with the bitters and cinnamon. It’s still great without the last two, but it’s nice if you have them on hand.
Christmas is my favorite season to visit Walt Disney World, so creating a few special Disney Signature Cocktails for the Christmas holiday season is a labor of love.
I create signature cocktails inspired by favorite Disney attractions for the Grand One Lounge here at Disney Resort North. Be sure to see all my Disney signature cocktails in this blog and let me know which is your favorite. Contact me if you have a favorite Disney attraction that you’d like to see have its own signature cocktail. I’ll do my best to get it done.
