The Mine Train: A Disney Signature Cocktail
A Disney Cocktail Inspired by Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Walt Disney World
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a fun, easygoing mid-level coaster with lots of twists and turns, but overall it offers a very smooth ride. So with that in mind, the Mine Train Disney signature cocktail takes its inspiration from all of that — and more.
The Mine Train also takes a little inspiration from Germany, the setting of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. So the German-classic botanical-infused Jagermeister is one of the stars of this creation. For a little mine train heritage, I coupled the Jagermeister with rye whiskey.
In addition to the Jager and rye, the Mine Train gets a little sweetness from a touch of agave syrup and to provide the acidic zip there’s orange bitters and a few drops of fresh orange juice. A garnish of orange peel twisted to reflect the fun curves of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train finish off the drink.
Ingredients
1 oz Jagermeister
1 oz rye whiskey
1/2 ounce agave syrup (you can go to 1 oz if you like it a little sweeter)
3 dashes orange bitters
a few drops of fresh orange juice squeezed from the orange you use for the garnish
As when making any cocktail without mixer, I recommend using a good quality rye for the Mine Train, as it is an equal star of the show. It doesn’t have to be top shelf, but no bottom feeders. I like to serve it on the rocks, but you could also use a shaker to serve it chilled and neat.
I create signature cocktails inspired by favorite Disney attractions for the Grand One Lounge here at Disney Resort North. Be sure to see all my Disney signature cocktails in this blog and let me know which is your favorite! Contact me if you have a favorite Disney attraction that you’d like to see have its own signature cocktail. I’ll do my best to get it done.
