Very Merry Magic: A Disney-inspired Signature Christmas Cocktail
A Gingerbread Rum Flavored Cocktail: A Taste of Disney Christmas Party Magic
Few flavors capture the essence of the Christmas holiday season like gingerbread. For this Disney-inspired signature cocktail I took inspiration of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom Park. They don’t (at least not yet) serve adult beverages during this festive holiday party, but if they did, this creation would fit right in.
For this cocktail, I did a riff on the classic Moscow Mule. But instead of the traditional vodka and lime flavor profile, I switched things up to give a note of very festive cheer, while still building on the ginger beer component of the classic Mule. You can serve the Very Merry Magic in a Moscow Mule cup, or your favorite festive or cocktail glass.
Ingredients
1.5 oz gingerbread rum
1/2 oz cinnamon liqueur
1/2 oz gingerbread syrup (if you want it sweeter, you can do 1 oz)
6 oz ginger beer (or to taste)
For this drink I use Captain Morgan’s Gingerbread Rum and Goldschlager Cinnamon Liqueur, along with Torani Gingerbread Syrup and Fever Tree Ginger Beer. Mix together all ingredients and serve in a Moscow Mule mug with crushed ice from a Lewis bag (or similar). Garnish with a gingerbread cookie to top it off.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the annual festive event that takes place each year in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World. We love attending the event and miss the adult beverage side, so that was the inspiration for this Disney-inspired signature cocktail (the gingerbread men in the parade are good fun).
I create signature cocktails inspired by favorite Disney attractions for the Grand One Lounge here at Disney Resort North. Be sure to see all my Disney signature cocktails in this blog and let me know which is your favorite. Contact me if you have a favorite Disney attraction that you’d like to see have its own signature cocktail. I’ll do my best to get it done.
